CATEPS µGrid Living Lab Presentation
Thanks to the financing obtained through the call “Ayudas a infraestructuras y equipamientos de I+D+i, en la modalidad adquisición de material científico y mejora de infraestructuras I+D+i, para entidades de carácter público en el ámbito del Plan Andaluz de Investigación, Desarrollo e Innovación (PAIDI 2020)” by the Consejería de Economía, Conocimiento, Empresas y Universidad of the Junta de Andalucía, through FEDER funds, the University of Seville has deployed in its Centro Andalucía Tech Escuela Politécnica Superior (CATEPS) a unique infrastructure called “CATEPS Microgrid Living-Lab for the use of Artificial Intelligence for renewable energies integration and flexibility management”.
Project Objective: Have a unique research infrastructure with medium-scale generation and storage, structured in a modular way (distributing resources) throughout its facilities, and with the capacity to manage its flexible resources, to research and development of technologies and strategies based on AI, for the management and optimization of its distributed energy resources, building a “living lab”, providing the added value of experimentation and validation over a real test bed.
